📢 Job Opening: Communications Lead

📍 Location: Remote

🕒 Part-Time | Competitive Pay | Flexible Schedule | Approximately 5-10 Hours per Week

 

Are you a creative communicator with a passion for education? Our growing tutoring company is looking for a Communications Lead to take charge of our brand voice and help us connect with students, families, and communities across platforms.

 

🔹 About Us:

Our goal as a company is to reach as many students as possible, offering a wide range of resources, while maintaining the warm, personalized attention typically associated with a private tutor. We believe that true student success happens outside the traditional classroom setting. Unlike other tutoring services, our approach focuses on building confidence and teaching skills in ways that differ from conventional classroom methods. Now, we’re looking for someone to help us share our story and reach even more families.

 

🔹 What You’ll Do:

As our Communications Lead, you’ll play a key role in building our public presence and strengthening our community relationships. Your duties will include:

 

✉️ Creating and managing engaging weekly newsletters

 

🌐 Maintaining and updating our website content

 

📱 Overseeing and posting to our social media channels (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, etc.)

 

🗓️ Following a content calendar to keep messaging consistent and timely

 

🤝 Reaching out to prospective clients and local organizations via email, phone, and social platforms

 

✍️ Writing and editing content that reflects our brand voice and mission

 

📊 Monitoring engagement metrics and adjusting strategy based on performance

 

🎯 Supporting other marketing and communications tasks as needed


 

🔹 Who You Are:

 

  • A strong communicator with excellent writing and editing skills

  • Experienced in digital marketing, email campaigns, and social media management

  • Organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to juggle multiple projects

  • Comfortable using platforms like Mailchimp, Canva, WordPress, and social scheduling tools

  • A self-starter who thrives in both collaborative and independent settings

  • Passionate about education and making a difference

 

This job is open to students, and we encourage applications from individuals studying in related fields (education, marketing, communications, journalism, etc).

 

🔹Bonus Points If You Have:

 

  • Experience in the education or tutoring space

  • Graphic design or light video editing skill

  • SEO or analytics knowledge

  • you must be located in Ottawa or, in some cases, elsewhere in Ontario;

  • you must be at least fourteen years of age to work in Ontario;

  • you can apply without relevant experience, but we welcome applications from individuals with education- and leadership-related experience;

  • you must have confidence and skills in at least one standard school subject (English, French, mathematics, science, etc.);

  • we welcome applications from individuals with proficiency in languages other than English and French;

  • you must have a growth mindset and willingness to develop your skills and grow with a great team;

  • of course, you must enjoy working with children and helping others.
